Jenna Fischer was best known for portraying Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office has earned her an Emmy nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category. In addition, she received two SAG Awards, both for outstanding performances by an ensemble comedy.
Jenna was raised within Fort Wayne in Indiana. Jenna grew up watching her mother, Anne, in church productions. It instilled in her a love for theatre.
Fischer was a stage actress in her own country. The role she played was Josh Hamilton in Neil LaBute's Off-Broadway drama Reasons to be Happy. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's newest production Meteor Shower. The Office actress Angela Kinsey, Fischer's real-life friend and co-star, debuted Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The podcast was wildly successful, ranking in the Top Ten of the world every week. The podcast received more than 200 million downloads during its first 2 years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of two books. The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide, in which she details her journey from St. Louis to Hollywood in order to be a professional actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two of the Best Friends who were there (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) This book provides the story of their greatest relationship and their time for The Office.
